Founded in 1995, Resource Associates began as an independent contracting firm that targeted its grant development services to central and southern California LEA’s and schools. Over the course of the past ten years, the company has expanded its services to focus on multiple entity types (i.e., nonprofits, businesses, educational product vendors) from throughout the United States and the international community.

Resource Associates is comprised of several divisions, which include the Grant Writing Services Division and the RA Evaluation Institute. The Grant Writing Services Division hosts a large staff of professional grant writers, full-time administrators, and support staff who represent an average of 600 RA client agencies at any one time. The division’s grant writer pool is diverse and inclusive of community economic development specialists, certified prevention specialists, mental health specialists, medical doctors, criminal justice and fire safety specialists, technologists, scientists, and education specialists. Due to the large volume and demand of client services, Resource Associates has the financial and management capacity to maintain a sizable staff of experienced grant writers who are able to perform a variety of grant development services in response to each client’s immediate need.

The RA Evaluation Institute employs one full time administrator and several professional evaluators who work with “grant awarded” clients to carry out independent external evaluation and grant reporting services.

• Development of funding needs assessment reports that align identified financial and programming needs of the client agency with upcoming grant opportunities from relevant federal, state, and private funding sources.
• Facilitation of staff and/or community strategic planning groups to collaboratively develop a program design for a grant proposal or to development a strategic funding plan that reflects the surveyed needs of the client and its stakeholders.
• Professional grant writing services that include the collaborative planning and full development of the grant program design, narrative, and budget. Every step of the grant writing process purposely incorporates strategic planning and communication between the grant writer and key stakeholders of the client agency so that grant dollars and programs produce quality solutions -- individualized to address the operational and programmatic needs of our clients.
• Third party evaluation services that include onsite start-up assistance, process and outcome evaluation system development, program monitoring, preparation of quarterly and annual progress reports as required by the funder, and ongoing technical assistance and grant implementation support.
• Basic, intermediate, and advanced level professional training and skill development on grant writing and capacity building related topics.
